I believe the title may be a bit misleading, especially in consideration of the ugly, hate speech which was within Wanda Sykes presentation, as well.  There is nothing funny about wishing one dead because of their political beliefs.  That is called facism, in which one wishes one dead, one tries to kill one or silence one and one actually kills one because of opposing political beliefs.

More offensive was the President of the United States laughed, thinking the comment was funny.  There was nothing funny about it…there is nothing funny about facism…there is nothing funny about the President of the United States engaging in petty partisan comments…there is nothing funny about polarization in this country.

Obama needs to learn some professional behavior, some decorum and some backbone to stand against that type of comments and behavior by ALL.

I totally agree with you 2LB. Sykes’ so-called “humor” is anything but funny. Can you imagine the outcry there would have been if, when George W. Bush was President, a Republican had even tactfully criticized the opposition at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner? Obama could have, at the least, remarked that Sykes’ comments were inappropriate and distanced himself from her hate speech.
